Minority & Sex Awareness Program
The goals of the Minority & Sex Awareness program are to:
- Understand the biology of all human skin (including of ethnic and racial minorities and of women)
- Attract and recruit underrepresented minorities and women into cutaneous research
These goals are accomplished with the support of our center's educational programs, extensive marketing campaigns, regular administrative meetings and designated grant support through the Pilot & Feasibility Program. In support of the Minority & Sex Awareness Program goals, the center has committed to designating at least one annual Pilot & Feasibility grant to a project that addresses minority or sex issues in cutaneous biology research.
Program Leadership
The Minority & Sex Awareness Program is spearheaded by Roopal Kundu, MD, who also serves as director of the Northwestern Medicine Center for Ethnic Skin and Hair.
